Batuan Temple: The Artistic Temples of Ubud
Batuan village is not only famous for its painting and artwork styles but also for its temples. The temples called as Batuan Temple are located in Batuan village at Sukawati district, in Ubud, Bali. Batuan Temple, like other landmarks in Bali has many festivals. The festivals usually held according to the Balinese calendar. The Batuan Temple’ most prominent festival is the Galungan. The Balinese believe that Gods will come to the earth on that day. During the festival, penjor, a long bamboo pole will be put on the entrance of the temples.
